Culture is a LIE

Pros

Big company with plenty of options to move within. They do offer 6 weeks of maternity/paternity leave at 60%.

Cons

First, you will be underpaid no matter what at DaVita. 2016 internal survey data shows 54% of employees in DaVita believe they are compensated fairly compared to +70% industry average. Second, the culture is a lie. You may hear about how great the culture is at DaVita because of the Mayor, yes the CEO, dresses up in a 3 Musketeers costume at company cult initiations. Check out John Oliver from May 14, 2017. Lastly, office politics are out of control. I understand large companies have a standard level of politics but DaVita is out of control to the point managers from other teams comment on work schedule. An unwritten rule, you can not leave before 5 without being reprimanded.

Pros

Employee stock purchase plan Food with meetings Tuition reimbursement, but far less than Fresenius

Cons

Work 6o hours per week and still don't get everything done. Very poor FA training. Too many reports that have the same info FA role is 24/7: 365 days/yr-especially if u are an RN and can work the floor Chairside Snappy is from the 1970's!! Ever heard of Windows 95!!! Too many new initiatives. Way too much focus on metrics Clinical support team is rude and obnoxious Don't put any money into existing clinics. Many policies that don't make clinical sense and haven't been used in the rest of the dialysis world for 20+ years. Absolutely no work/life balance Untrue bonus structure is presented when interviewing. Make less than being a floor nurse.

Pros

401k, annual bonuses, medical, dental, vision, always overtime available, stable career (somewhat)

Cons

401k is not matched, training is not monitored to make sure new hires know what they are doing or to make sure preceptors are actually precepting and God forbid the new hire didn't know something that they didn't even realize their preceptor was supposed to teach them, the nurses will throw the new hire under the bus, no doubt about it instead of guiding and correcting them. There's no work life balance, just early mornings and late nights that never end. Get to work a little after 5am, don't leave until about 8:00pm at night and come back and do it again the next day and the next day and the next day and so forth and then you're dealing with crazy coworkers and patients alike the entire time. I can't imagine this is safe for workers or patients. Can I call the state about employee scheduling and the risk of incidents and errors due to lack of sleep? Guess I'll call and find out.
