      Pros

      None really. My location was horrible. And we were not in a position to help students in any meaningful way. I voluntarily left when the major restructuring was underway in 2021. From the sound of it, not much has improved.

      Cons

      As for the people in management positions, those who I interacted with, they were horrible. Many cut-throat individuals who cared only about their own career and the appearance of being competent.

      Pros

      Still one of the best sources of college credit per dollar. Still full of scrappy students who are trying to turn their life around. Still local and accessible. Still many people working on the ground on these campuses that want students to succeed. Very diverse with people from all walks of life, professions, and backgrounds. Compensation/benefits are fair.

      Cons

      Some Campuses are ghost towns. The centralization of turning the DCCCD system into Dallas Colleges destroyed the community feeling at each campus by axing half the workforce (including loyal staff) and not replacing them. Those who remain are stretched thin expecting to do more with less. Most of the students are now dual-credit/high school age students. Administrators at the tippytop feel distant, and invisible.
