Pros

Good place to gain experience but I would not stay more than 3-5 years. Benefits are good. Salary ranges have not changed since the company started. Once you make it to a certain level, you never get another raise. It is almost impossible to get promoted. They might give you a new position but it's usually at the same salary.

Cons

They set goals that are unrealistic and unattainable. Part of the problem was because management has no idea how much time it takes to perform a job. My position required me to stay until 6-6:30pm every night, come in on weekends and to work on holidays, just to keep my head above water.

Pros

They pay you moderately well in line with industry standards

Cons

Ethically bankrupt, nepostic management, they define "innovation" as buying other technology. They call themselves a science company but there rarely is actual science done. The company prides itself on having a "innovative" culture yet understaffs, cuts employees each year, and barely gives you enough resources to complete projects. Add to this their cumbersome documentation system that looks like it straight out of windows 95, their archaic project timeline layout sessionss, and their ambigiuous instructions on how to actually document things and you are left with a company that only survives because it is so rich at this point it just buys up the competition, slaps its label on it and calls it "science." What a joke.

Danaher and DBSO

Pros

Structured working environment in established OpCo's. If you are looking for a job but not recommended for a career.

Cons

Danaher acquired our company. Danaher is all about numbers and metrics with lack of concern for employees or culture, especially on West Coast. The DBSO representatives are sent out from East Coast and Europe. Their interactions demotivate employee idea generation and squash internal innovation. They do not take the time to understand the culture of motivation factors a the Opco's but demoralize the existing management views. The formal training programs have some useful tools but do not use relative examples that apply to the Opco's. The instructors read from prepared scripts and are not able to fulfill the training with relevant or applicable advice. When I asked why - that was "By design" - just communicate the message dont worry about relevancy. The office is stretched thin, they provide a few training classes and do not follow up on effectiveness of the training. Only a select elite amount of people are able to attend. If you want to have a career at your OpCo, you must attend these sessions even though they lack substance. Overall, their employee surveys are not acceptable but little is done to make any changes.
