      Low pay even for very experienced servers

      Pros

      The company offers benefits, vacation days for full-time employees, lots of restaurants with a transfer program if you want to change restaurants or move to a different city. Good, thorough training program. Pretty flexible about scheduling.

      Cons

      Poor management, bad pay (I've worked at 4 different restaurants and the rate of pay and gratuities at Olive Garden was the lowest I EVER experienced in the industry). Excessively critical of your every move...micromanagement in a restaurant which is pretty uncommon.

      Guest are horrible, every restaurant should have a guide on how to behave in a restaurant.

      Pros

      For a good number of years Darden had great values and was good to it's employees. It was fun, lighthearted and the tips were good.

      Cons

      They have been demoting servers who have been there for years and been loyal to the company. They no longer care about their employees. It has become a moneygrubbing, non-caring corporation. Shame on you Darden for letting yourself sink so low!
