Pros

Plenty of hours, pay was actually really good for the work I did, fun people to work with, management seemed very competant

Cons

obviously being a high school and college job, alot of drama which could be entertaining at times but despite peoples best efforts to stay distanced from it, it always manages to find you.

Pros

Company has a good employee discount and ample employee parking. Training was sufficient and didn't go overboard. That's about it for the pros.

Cons

Hiring manager flat out lied about how much money can be made. The give everyone a three table station which makes it virtually impossible to make decent money. One manager berated staff members at every possible moment.

Pros

At Darden, you get the opportunity to work for a company with a great reputation for providing a combination of excellent food and service. The extensive training program will provide even the most nonexperienced employee with the tools they need to get the job done efficiently. Another advantage is Darden employees always have the opportunity to get a true feel for how the corporation operates through company wide newsletters and the company website. The restaurants and division of labor within the corporation are very well organized. While working as a server you are given the opportunity to develop a wide variety of interpersonal and organizational skills that will help you prosper in the future.

Cons

Although Darden possess the foundation of a successful corporation, ineffective management often slows progression. It is because of this that employees continue to experience a low rate of instrumenality, a low level of valence, lack of intrinsic reward, and decreased autonomy.
