Pros

-good amount of responsibility early on, get to speak to C-level executives and speak at marketing events which helps you grow your speaking and sales skills tremendously (but you can do this in most tech sales jobs tbh) -nice working with people your age

Cons

-As a person of color, i feel like there was a massive lack of diversity that was missing, not in NY office but definitely in the company as a whole -bagels that are catered are always stale -executives could care less about you, they see you as just a number. Its also the blind leading the blind over there, just get new hires like a revolving door, like cogs in a machine -no real career growth, you can become a "manager" and do countless amount of work but you get paid peanuts for it -major disparity in salary even for same position -disorganized mess in terms of sales territory which cause clients to become angry when multiple sales people reach out to the same person -lack of inspiration in the company or transparency -the marketing team makes AEs do their job for them

Pros

-Travel (You will be jet-setting 80% of the week in outside sales). You'll accumulate a decent amount of miles and hotel points -Young, intelligent, and amusing colleagues -Product is slick (at least its appearance...) and CTs are quite incredible -Free food on Fridays (lol)

Cons

-No respect or value for employees. It is 150% about numbers and projections. No matter how valuable of an employee you are or how much you contribute, at the end of the day, if a deal falls through (often times because prospect company either doesn't have the budget or is unable to commit at the end of the 3 week timeline in which management demands a decision), you're nothing -Favoritism in given salaries. The company only hires recent ivy league grads and you will not find much ethnic diversity -Quota is unreasonable and unreached by managers themselves -Solo travel (it gets lonely!) + no work/life balance. You are in charge of the prospect (cold call) to the close, essentially by yourself -Unethical culture encourages colleagues to backstab. Reps often make up information on the internal database in order to steal accounts. "Talked to Solutions Architect (for 2 seconds) at marketing event"= ALL OTHER REPS BEWARE: DO NOT TOUCH. -Commission plan is not favorable -No 401k plan -No company card. There were occasions when I was in 4 different hotels and 5 different cities in 5 days. Without getting my expenses back for about 3 weeks, I was uncertain I could afford montlyy rent. Not a great job if you don't have a good/allowing credit card right off the bat -Micro-management at its finest. Get ready to be called by your boss 10x a day, requesting 24/7 updates on information you already sent them hours before OR to reprimand you for flying at 4:30PM (an hour before the offices close) when that is the only flight that will allow you to get home before midnight -You WILL harass undeserving potential clients -Management uses tactics of stress and "fear" to up the numbers -You will be taken advantage of. All you are is just a number - a pawn to make rich guys richer

Pros

-Good work/life balance. 9hr day. -I had a great manager and she really fought for our team.

Cons

-Imagine a world without any organizational/productivity/collaborative technology. -High pressure to hit numbers leading to low-quality output from about many individuals. -Never had an executive ask for ways we could improve. It was a one-way street where commands were sent down the ladder.
