Some disappointment but content

Pros

Close to KCMO downtown activities Does a decent job of providing social atmosphere but I can see how that can be a distraction, as others have said on here, depending on personal goals and what you want out of your time at DSI Neat offices

Cons

Definitely no direction from Senior Leadership - no one really knows "why" they are working on something. Just "do it or we will loose this sale" with a strong hint of your job is on the line every time. No follow through afterwards. To be honest this place is neat but the work is really just a grind. Culture is a fine line of people that "want" to work here and those that "have" to work here. (about 50/50) The company appears to "let chunks of people go" every couple of years.

Clean Offices Can wear shorts to work

Cons

DSI distracts employees w/ parties & xbox & darts -when they should focus on - 401k match - no excuse in today's world - the match is a way for a company to investment in employees futures. (Its all about the taxes - DSI could provide significant tax deferred retirement benefits to their employees with relatively minimal impact on the Millionaire owners bottom line) Cost of benefits are WAY HIGH (Shop around with other companies to confirm) Lack of business vision & strategy at the executive level. Trickles down to employees.

Pros

DSI employees some of the smartest people in the industry, you will learn a lot working with them. The work/life balance is very family-friendly. Performance and teamwork here are top priorities, if you don't perform well or don't fit in with the team culture, you should move on, we will ask you to if you don't see it yourself (hence, some of the sore-former-employee reviews you see). Excellent total compensation. Low turnover.

Cons

Not a problem for most, but since DSI isn't a very large company there aren't lots of upward-moving positions available is that's what you are looking for. You will be expected to contribute, there are no positions that are for slackers.
