Pros

I really enjoyed working with my coworkers!

Cons

The management and leadership of this company is absolutely garbage! The lack of communication, and their profits before people mentality makes you feel like a number. I would absolutely discourage anyone from ever working for this organization!

First, I’d like to thank you for your service to DataBank. Being on the front lines and helping to maintain our facilities is a critical role within the company and we appreciate your contributions there. It appears you enjoyed working with your immediate team, so it is unfortunate that you departed with a different feeling about our leadership team. While we recognize a growing company like DataBank will always look to develop our leadership team and cross-function communications, your comments are surprising and out of the ordinary. More than 92% of DataBankers in our last culture survey (Oct 2022) said they had confidence or high confidence in our leadership team. And, as you know, we have made a huge investment in rewards and recognition aimed at our front-line staff. In the last 12 months alone, we’ve had almost 6000 instances of DataBanker’s recognizing one another with almost 90% of the staff receiving recognition and nearly 2/3 of it sent by managers to non-managers. Our leadership absolutely believes in “putting people first” which is why it is one of our Cultural Cornerstones and why we put programs in place to encourage and measure recognition. We know that happy employees = happy customers.

Pros

Work Independence. Flexible Hours. Not heavily micro managed. Strong company growth.

Cons

The worst thing that could happen to Databank is that they acquired both Lightbound and zColo. Databank's utmost concern is for the company to grow, but employees cannot grow with it. Middle management are nothing but bullies with an incomplete vision of how to run things going forward. Pay is not market rate and there is no chance to be promoted to anything significant.

Thanks again for the contributions you made during your tenure here at DataBank. We’re sorry you left with a negative impression of our recent acquisitions of zColo and Lightbound. Integrating new acquisitions is never easy, especially when they more than double the size of your operations. And the bigger the integration, the tougher the decisions. We don’t always get it right the first try but we’re always guided by our cultural values: Putting People First, Being Data Centered, Inspiring Confidence, Assuming Positive Intent, Taking Extreme Ownership, etc. We’re not afraid to admit when we’ve made a mistake either, and we always try to learn from them. We recognize these integrations create a lot of change that can be disorienting for staff as they have to let go of old systems and ways of doing things and embrace new approaches that we think will scale better. But those changes also create opportunities for growth and advancement for those willing to adapt and we’ve invested heavily this past year in developing new career paths and training modules so that our people can grow along with DataBank.

Pros

Easy work load / work life balance

Cons

Procedures are CONSTANTLY changing and usually you only find out through word of mouth from other employees, Upper management cares nothing of lower employees. NO RAISES NOT EVEN COST OF LIVING!!!!! What you get hired at is what you will make unless you get promoted BUT promotions are few and far between.

As a current employee, who appears to have recently joined DataBank via an acquisition, we want to thank you for your contributions and let you know we take seriously the feedback you are providing, even if we believe it may be more reflective of the acquired company. We know the company we acquired went through many painful changes prior to joining DataBank and we’re committed to changing that experience for you. We believe the investments we’ve made in culture, compensation and recognition here at DataBank will provide the rewards you were missing previously. And we understand that the integration with DataBank has resulted in yet more change, new systems, new processes, etc. But at the same time, we know it will create new growth opportunities for all staff and we hope you will continue your tenure here to accrue the benefits of this acquisition.
