Pros

Amazing people - Smartest and most humble data science minds. With a mind-blowing product that actually does what it says. Finally, there is a culture of getting things done. This means they value hard work, but if you are results-oriented, it's awesome. As a data scientist, I love the fact that I can work on insurance, healthcare, and manufacturing all in the same day. You are exposed to so many problems across a variety of industries. The team is cutting edge with internal seminars with our R&D team as well as a culture of cooperation because much of the team is remote.

Cons

A culture of hard work is not for everyone. This is not a government 9-5 job. The management is flat and results-oriented. If you value a lot of process, you aren't going to be happy. There is no issue with changing a process quickly if it isn't working correctly.

Pros

- Incredible colleagues and leadership. Smart, driven, diverse colleagues who are laser-focused on helping clients (commercial and public sector) deliver business impact through AI. Supportive leadership who have set the audacious goals of impacting the world at scale and improving the lives of everyone who works at DataRobot. Leaders walk-the-walk and empower team members to deliver on this vision and invest in team members development both professionally and personally. - Collaborative, fast-paced environment with a deep bench of experts who are proactive in identifying opportunities to support teammates in client work and personal development. - The product delivered to clients is awe-inspiring and continually improving. I regularly describe the capabilities of the product set as "magic" and get the same response from world-class data science leaders. I'm proud to go to clients with DataRobot and recognize the incredible engineering and data science talent that has spent countless hours make this product a leader in the space and used at leading global banks, manufacturers, insurance companies, etc.

Cons

- Based on the pace and intensity of the work individuals are expected to become comfortable solving problems quickly, drive client and internal work independently, and demonstrate an extreme ownership mentality. People who thrive on juggling multiple balls and ambiguity have an incredible ability to excel while those who prefer standard corporate delivery timelines and direction may struggle.

Pros

Great co-workers and like many of them, we are trying to find positives in this company.

Cons

HR has coerced many people to submit positive reviews on Glassdoor to combat the very true negative reviews. This effort is being done to get reviews of the company over 3 stars and more importantly, to get the approval rating of the CEO up over 40%. They are trying to get all the fake positive reviews at the top of the review board. CRITICAL POINT: Make no mistake that this mismanaged company has literally hurt lives, it will set back personal savings and careers for many years due to the recent and upcoming layoffs. The irony......DataRobot is in the business of predicting outcomes - but they did not see this coming?????? Sad and pathetic. The company used Covid as an excuse to clean house, when in fact this was due to mismanagement of the business. DataRobot is forcing people to publicly share that these layoffs were due to Covid, which is not true. This has been planned for at least a quarter or two. Instead of doing the right thing and letting people look for work prior to the layoffs, they let them all go in one day during a pandemic and now many are struggling to find any work. This was orchestrated, very cold and cruel. Here are a few tidbits of what has occurred over the last 5 months: 1. Pricing - EPIC disaster. There have been roughly 8 versions of pricing over the last four years, let alone a couple of versions since Q1 and these are disastrous. 2. Sales people are not getting fully paid on their commissions after closing a deal. This is 100% accurate, they are told to take what they are given. 3. Our top sales producers are jumping ship, I am sure more are to come. 4. Dream BIG program - if you are ok with a company spending millions on a program to help others lose weight over saving jobs - then this is the place for you. Bottomline, this place had great potential. But it is being run into the ground.
