      Pros

      Interesting products to sell, really nice people, now that there's a new CEO I'm hoping for greater structure and consistency.

      Cons

      It's every market for itself, no real sales training, or consistent message from management. While people are "really nice", management is clueless about helping you advance and achieve your goals, not to mention the company's goals. Lack of structure and consistency at Merrill.

      Great co-workers, benefits and work environment. There is growth within the company and opportunities to advance.

      Cons

      With the growth of the company there are many changes in staffing which can be frustrating. The flip-side is that this is what is opening up advancement opportunities.

      I worked for Merrill for almost 10 years and enjoyed my time there.

      Flexibility in work schedule Employee empowerment Updated systems with good technical support

      Cons

      There are a lot of long-term employees at Merrill who are not well managed. Also, the company went through 2 major reorganizations during my time and appeared to be in line for a third. These reorganizations were expensive, time consumptive and not well executed. Lower wages than I have experienced in other industries.
