Where do I begin... The pay is a joke. If you want to earn a respectable living, you need to be a sales consultant. As a builder, good luck ever making $50k plus. To them builders are expendable and you will be paid and TREATED as such. Management will NEVER support you even if they tell you straight to your face that they will. Expect to be lied to as it will happen quite often. Managers will give you a BS "company" answer to any question rather than shoot you straight. Homeowners and the survey results are more important to this company than the wonderful people that they hire. Turnover is not uncommon once people realize they have been dooped. Be prepared to be owned by the famous DW survey. If you get ANYTHING less than a Def. Would Recommend, your job will be on the line and you will be under the microscope from then on. You WILL loose sleep at night worrying about your job and your quality of life WILL suffer. The survey thing is mostly with what David Weekley calls- "cultural buyers". It's a nice term for- Indians. If you work in a mostly "cultural buyer" community- your life will be miserable. When you hear things like: "We don't make changes after start" or "We do not do re draws" - immediately know that these are blatant lies. As a builder you will basically be doing CUSTOM builds on a PRODUCTION schedule. That theory doesn't work in this market with the trade base and pay, but you will be expected to MAKE it work or you will be out of a job. (This is probably mostly only true in the DFW market than anywhere else in the company due to the poor management in this area) Bottom line, if you want to work for David Weekley, and you actually want to be successful - DON'T do it in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area!
