Pros

Coworkers are awesome, people are helpful and friendly

Cons

Daxko used to be a great place to work. In 2019, communication from leadership has dried up. Companies need to focus on profit, but Daxko seems to have decided that profit is the only thing that matters, and employees are feeling that change.

Thank you for your review. We agree that we have some pretty awesome people as teammates throughout the company. It is our people that make our culture and our product so amazing. We’re surprised to hear that you feel communication has “dried up” recently. In the near past you should have seen surveys from leadership requesting your feedback on frequency and content of our weekly and quarterly all hands meetings in the Birmingham office. I hope you provided your feedback. Daxko also conducts a company-wide All Hands meeting on a monthly basis to share information but as you can imagine we can’t address everything during that meeting. Other forms of communication include regular communication lunches with Senior Leadership Team members, roundtable discussions with the People Development Team and fireside chats with Ron, our CEO. As we grow as a company, we will continue to scale our communications to ensure everyone is informed. If you haven’t already shared your ideas in one of the avenues above, please reach out directly to the People Development Team or any member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Cool Culture Facade

Pros

Free food, Innovation activities are good, Work days that give back to our community are great, most employees are Great!!

Cons

Management speaks a good game but doesn't want to make the hard decisions as they should. Too afraid it will break up the cool kid club. If you don't fit that cool kid culture you will be pushed out of the way. No matter how much good you bring into the organization. Seeing people given a task which will disrupt culture and to watch them succeed at the task and the Management not support the decisions they made. Seeing employees stating that if they have to work on specific projects they will quit and management being held hostage and not taking the right corrective actions. Show that the click is in charge more than management. I do not mean all employees are this way, the majority are great.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I wish could have had a chance to discuss this topic with you before you left. Daxko tries to manage performance of team members in a way that is fair across the board. With the addition of our new CEO, we are rolling out tools that clearly identify critical imperatives that connect to the objectives of the company. These tools identify the person who is directly responsible, the initiatives that must take place to accomplish the imperative, timelines and regular check-ins to review the status. This, in addition to reviving managerial training, will help support accountability and execution. Hopefully the time spent at Daxko allowed you to gain experience that can add value in your next role. Good luck!

Pros

Decent place for a first time employee. One on ones with team leaders allow for some personal and professional improvement. Close knit teams.

Cons

Upper leadership is really only concerned with "growth" at any cost. With the new CEO came an antiquated and condescending leadership style with zero upside. Daxko used to be a place that promoted learning and open mindedness when it came to solutions. Their huge plus was the company culture that felt like family with every member of the team interested in producing the best software for the consumer. This is no longer the case. Teams are fearful for the future, and what it holds for them at Daxko. Daxko had made it clear that they will no longer invest in their employees personal or professional growth. No longer competitive with pay or benefits.
