Pros

Free Friday lunch. Opportunity to achieve a lot quickly. Little to no red tape to jump through. Most team memebers are pleasant to interact with. If you like being left alone to code in a library like environment, this may have some kind of appeal.

Cons

Rigid schedule of 8:30-5:30. Flexible scheduling in the sense that you can come in anytime before 8:30 and leave anytime after 5:30. Codebase/technologies used looks like it was written in the 90's and the coding standards came with it. There is no career pathing available. The primary method of advancement within the company appears to be largely through attrition. Inexperienced leadership drives poor design, principle, and general discontent within the development teams. Lack of understanding the implemention of the product's requirements is a huge issue. Requirements rarely ever have any face-to-face discussion that includes developers.

Pros

Feature rich software that addresses concerns of process manufacturing companies. Employees are nice, but always walking on eggshells.

Cons

-CEO thinks he is "the almighty" know it all of everything. -CEO has no consideration for your opinion, family, past experience, or career goals -CEO determines if a customer is a good fit or not. If they don't want to follow "his process" than he has no use for them, that goes for employees too. The turnover here is remarkable. -Unprofessional environment. Cursing, screaming, and constant belittling. Idiot is a term of endearment from this "leader". - Promises made internally and externally that are not kept.

Not As Good As It Seems

Pros

Free lunches on Fridays. Great people, coworkers always willing to drop whatever they are doing to help others. Great opportunity for quick growth if you desire. Good job for people right out of college.

Cons

Unfortunately what used to be a promising company with a growing product has turned into a software that is ready to implode at any second. Decisions are made without consulting the people using or coding the product, there are so many features shoved into 1 software base that no one in the company knows what it ‘should’ do anymore. Developers are treated like minutely employees, if you leave at 5:29 instead of 5:30 expect to get the stink eye. Very few paid holidays, PTO is average at best.
