Pros

- No shortage of smart experts in their fields - Commands several marketplaces and that helps opens doors to partner cooperations - Lots of great gathering events to meet people in new divisions

Cons

- Lots of thinking overlaps, confuses staff - Not a lot or room for creativity - Often a lot of younger types that are transitory and earning their professional chops

Pros

-Flexible work arrangement -good benefits (box seats at Verizon Center, tuition reimbursement etc) -Most positions stay within the 40 hour work week -Most of the lower and middle management are good people who care about their staff but are put in a terrible position by ruthless senior and executive management mandates

Cons

Before the acquisition by Thoma Bravo, things were moving in an unsettling direction but at least you felt that senior management invested and believed in their workforce and products. Post-TB, the scorched earth obsession with making short term profit to justify the inflated price of their purchase has seeped into and ruined nearly all aspects of the way Deltek operates. Mass layoffs, consistent manipulation of the bonus structure, no budget provided for promotions in the 2-3 years since they took over (I'll repeat that: NO BUDGET FOR PROMOTIONS), ramping up outsourcing processes to 11 and a modus operandi of total secrecy that makes the previous regime look like transparency advocates. It is more than clear senior management is operating on orders from TB to cut costs (despite the fact that we were bringing in record profit margins at the time they took over) divert all company investment away from current workforce and products and towards acquisitions (which lead to more layoffs). This has created an Orwellian climate where middle and senior management insist that nothing of the sort is happening, and any employees who point out these practices are labeled as troublemakers with negative attitudes that run counter to Deltek's stated culture of positivity. My biggest sympathy is with the clients who are locked into multi-year contracts for Deltek's services, as these people are getting dramatically reduced services for the same price.
