Pros

Derive is at a fantastic juncture where big brains, an acute desire to collaborate, and a market hungry for our technology are at a fever pitch. These are exciting times for Derive. The opportunities for those of us fortunate enough to work here at times seem endless. The caliber of folks we have on staff is high without attitude or undertones of undermining a peer. High EQs? Yes, we have those too. Feel very fortunate to be here. Check us out!

Cons

With all the goodness I eluded to, the ability to be nimble, and willingness to occasionally wear a new hat to 'git er dun' is important.

A Bright Future

Pros

Leadership team is very proactive and is as transparent as possible with teams across all three offices. Establishing a strong culture is undeniably important here and genuine effort has been made to empower employees to do their best work while enjoying the work that they do. The product has a strong legacy following and the product roadmap holds a lot of opportunity.

Cons

Innovation can lead to a bit of uncertainty which naturally causes concern. Nothing to truly worry about as the talent and dedication to future success far outweighs the hiccups and hurdles.

A really fun job

Pros

Small teams, great benefits, flexible schedule, lack of dogmatic practices, management that seeks, and listens to, wisdom from the world class talent in house. Fun job with an interesting, ever-changing technology stack, and opportunities at all levels from cloud down to firmware.

Cons

Product owner layer is too thin, resulting in requirements bottlenecks. All UI decisions flow through one guy (who doen't have that kind of time). A mindset that you should feel empowered, but micromanagement that accomplishes the opposite. A clear dividing line between 'original' and 'new' employees with hints of contempt from both sides.
