Pros

The salary and benefits are very competitive. The building in OKC has lots of nice amenities. Commuting in Oklahoma City is very easy. Devon Energy is one of the most respected employers in the Oklahoma City area.

Cons

There seems to be a lack of corporate direction. Also the workplace is very impersonal. I find it odd that no one talks about their vacations or holidays or families. My experienced coworkers are professional but not particularly friendly. If you relocate to OKC from elsewhere, expect to have a hard time making personal connections.

Decent Benefits and wage scale is alright.

Cons

Hourly employees treated as 2nd class person, I have 20 yrs with this company I get 5 weeks vacation. If you are on salary you get 3 weeks vacation + 12 flex days to start out plus you can purchase vacation days. For example hourly people working 5 days a week must use a vacation day if you, your spouse or child have a medical appointment in Ed monton (I'm in the field)Great company if you are on salary and are an engineer otherwise not so good.

Pros

Competitive base salary, restricted stock units program makes it more attractive than others E&Ps, excellent retirement match, great working environment. Promotion opportunities existed for those who put in >100% to make a difference everyday. Excellent team work! Lots of highly talented people to get help and to learn from. Great interns program that hires and retains the best.

Cons

Medium size, lots of employees, process could slow decision making that may not fit for some individuals.
