Moving in the right direction

Pros

DiSTI has some solid, large opportunities coming, both in DOD and in commercial space. The people are super smart. The managers care about us. We work with cool tech like Unity, 3DS Max, VR and AR. There are fun company events.

Cons

Some of the policies and security are heavier than in other companies. Maybe because its a DOD company. The leadership is not as good about communicating status to us, but they seem to be getting better.

A fast-paced cutting-edge environment that respects new ideas and initiatives. No two days or projects are ever the same. Leadership is responsive to different perspectives and the culture is one that places a lot of value on employees.

Cons

I have never had a negative experience working here.

Small Defense Contractor with growing pains

Pros

Very friendly coworkers and generally a good environment. A lot of work but not overly stressful most days. Recently, management has undergone a lot of changes. New managers, employee surveys, more communications. Still working on it and some shuffling of people around to different groups while they figure things out. Think it will take them awhile to really get it right but at least they are trying. A lot of the staff get together for outside activities and sometimes the company helps out.

Cons

Working in a defense contractor has some hassles. Security rules, timesheets, long NDA document. Recently the company has been going through a lot of security changes that come from the government. A lot of stress about that but getting better. While it is a small company, they work for the big companies like Boeing and Lockheed and have to follow a lot of rules other small companies do not. If you have trouble getting to work on time or need to use facebook during the day, not the place for you. They monitor internet traffic on office computers so if you need personal email, need to use your phone.
