Pros

They really take good care of their workers. I was part of High Tech Construction before DA Construction bought us, and everyone at the new company was very kind and fun to be around. They were very patient with all of us when they were helping us figure out the merge. The health insurance is fantastic. I miss working there.

Cons

I can't think of any

Pros

The Pay was not to bad.

Cons

This company hired me as a carpenter and had me clean the garbage out of a five story building. The boss treated his help worse than his dog and over your should and micro manage everything. He acted like I could not be trusted with a broom. One day I was work in 103 degree weather and I had brought a gallon of water with me that morning, but about 2pm I ran out of water. I went to the job trailer to get some water and as I was filling my water container her walk in and yelled at me for getting some water. He told me to get my water from the building that we were working on. I would not have had a problem with that but the pluming was be put in and none of the pluming had been flushed or sanitized yet, so the water could have had chemicals or other contaminants in it. One more thing about the water is he had a dog on the job site and the dogs water bowl was sitting right beside the clean water in the job trailer and I never one time seen him bring a dog bowl in to the building to fill it, so from what I seen he gave his dog clean water but not his help. Safety. I felt that safety was horrible. this guy had you where all the PPE so in case OSHA showed up, but when it came down to it if the worker was killed or hart on the job there was somebody to take his place. One example and i,m not going to give all it would just take to long to explain. I was out working by a fork lift with a ferly new operator unlicensed I mite add and I was staying out of the way like I should have been, but as I was doing what I should the boss walked and started yelling at me to get up on the trailer and push on a 500lb crate that was site on top of and other one. The crate where unstable and tippy, one small mistake by the unlicensed operator I would have been severely hart or killed PPE would not have done anything for me and those were the kind of thing he would do. Metaphorically jump in front of a bus as long as you are wearing your PPE. One more thing I got cot trying to get another job, so he let me go for that. You mite be thinking this guy is just a loser. Well I will tell you just a little about me not everything just for identification purposes. I have work full time since I was 18 years old I don't do drugs or anything of that sort and never have. I have a bachelor's degree I have since moved on to what I have a degree in and am making six figures. Most of my life before I completed my degree I was making well above the average wage for the area I lived in. I would work fifty to eighty hour a week, so I could have the wage I wanted. So if you care about your work history don't go to work for DA Construction. But if you don't care and you just need some fast cash and hopping for a workmen's comp check it may be the place for you.
