Pros

There aren't many uber-intelligent people in this industry as a whole, but many of them are at Digitas. Media and Strategy & Analytics teams work together unusually closely and do incredibly sophisticated work, especially in performance marketing. Media dollars are actually spent based on real data and analysis, rather than arbitrarily as is the case at many agencies.

Cons

1) Not enough opportunity for movement (both lateral and vertical). Promotions were based on (long) time periods/cycles rather than aptitude. 2) Management is very inconsistent. I've had the best and worst managers I've ever had there, and it makes all the difference.

Casual dress and environment Nice, friendly people in media Great parties twice per year & lovely terrace Good agency to have on CV Work with big brands Some really smart people

Cons

Low pay and no bonus scheme - silently removed Poor organization and structure Very political, a lot of nepotism & favoritism Lack of communication and direction from senior management Rude/arrogant people throughout rest of agency, esp. in senior management No focus on media No training High turnover Some incompetent people Unsophisticated media work People who work harder are not rewarded for it Poor distribution of work/projects

Scale - i.e. resources Interesting technology lab Location is convenient Salaries - which tend to be generous

Cons

VERY Political Senior Leadership have been there forever Gargantuan egos even by NY agency standards Size - it's a big corporate feeling agency and genuinely not that Creative You literally will not have a life outside of work. It's a late hours culture.
