Bad Leadership

Pros

You may learn how office politics works in a real environment.

Cons

This is not a good company to join or build your career. There is a lack of strong and stable leadership. Leadership changes frequently, and even top management roles are not consistent. Decisions are often not based on merit or logic, but on personal alignment with certain individuals. Ongoing restructuring has been happening for years without clear direction or results. What is discussed in meetings (like due diligence and following processes) is often not actually followed. Employees who question decisions or try to do the right thing may not be supported. People who simply agree with leadership (“yes boss” attitude) are more likely to stay longer, even if decisions are not correct.

Cons

I am writing to raise a serious concern regarding the current leadership environment within our Bangalore office. Over the past several months, there has been a growing sense of dissatisfaction among employees due to the following issues: Excessive pressure and unrealistic expectations being placed on teams. A lack of support or intervention from the HR department, despite repeated concerns. Increasing employee attrition, which is being trivialized rather than addressed seriously. Disregard for input from existing managers, leading to frustration and inefficiency. Instances where some new leaders are reportedly making inappropriate comments about departing employees, which negatively impacts team morale. We believe that the current leadership style is contributing to a toxic work culture, and it is affecting both employee well-being and overall productivity. Humbly, I request the higher management to: Conduct an anonymous employee feedback survey focused on leadership behavior and workplace culture. Review the results transparently and take appropriate action based on the findings. Ensure that HR plays a more active and supportive role in protecting employee welfare and facilitating open communication. The current trajectory could result in further loss of talent and damage to the company’s reputation if not addressed promptly. Thank you for taking the time to consider this request. We hope to see positive changes that reflect the company’s core values and commitment to a healthy, respectful workplace.

Pros

Competitive salary – among the top of the Hays salary range when I joined. Two-week recharge period (fully paid time off), which was a great perk. Flexible home office options. Projects had potential and offered room for growth. Initially, the company had a strong and inspiring vision.

Cons

Over time, benefits were gradually stripped away: recharge time reduced from two weeks to one day, then removed entirely. Cost-of-living allowance during Hungary’s high inflation period was temporary and eventually discontinued. Growing employee frustration due to ongoing, unresolved issues with the company’s flagship product. Hiring and promotion decisions often seemed more based on internal relationships than merit or skill. Interview process was poorly handled, with some interviewers displaying unprofessional or dismissive behavior — including gatekeeping and asking irrelevant questions. The interview experience reflects broader concerns about company culture and management quality. The annual salary increase does not maintain the purchasing power parity. The company easily get onto any kind of hype train, if other companies slashing home office, then Diligent does, if other companies do some AI related job then Diligent does. Don't follow other companies!
