Pros

I was paid well but I got lucky. Not a lot of people are paid well here.

Cons

I had heard some insight from a friend who still works there and sounds like they are treating her horribly so I felt like I should voice my experience and why I left. Diligent is NOT an easy place to work. The culture is tense and the furthest thing from positive or happy. It feels cult-like where speaking up would get you a target on your back. You don't feel like a real human at Diligent. It's clear, you are just a number. Leadership was always switching gears. You'd have one strategy roll out and then the next month some complete new direction. And you'll see leadership leave frequently as the strategy changes. The company went hybrid so forced employees back into an office after years of hiring all over. Doing this all while paying people below market rate in the most expensive places in the country. The workload is undoable across most teams and DO NOT work really hard thinking hard work pays off here. This company will not promote you for your good work and your boss will get replaced with someone externally whether they are qualified or not. Your diligent career will start and end with the title they gave you so make sure you are looking for just a 1-2 year stepping stone if you are going to accept an offer there. In all, you should fear getting fired or laid off. They are a mess. Run. Avoid. Don't work for this awful company.

Pros

While you are there and in their plan they will shower you with fake love and care, while they need you.

Cons

The moment leadership makes mistakes or decides you are not cult worthy, they put you on official or unofficial pips and give you no support or chance for success. HR only cares about the company and not the employees. Though this did not impact me personally, I did have to go through this with 2 colleagues over the years and sworn to silence. I had to sit back and watch Diligent abuse and mistreat people because had I said anything to HR. I would have been next. If you need a filler job to get you to the next one, Pick Diligent, just don't get comfortable and don't unpack. Just do your 8, get your money and look for another job. No pay and perks are worth the end result. Scary to think of how many people this happens to because in the end, they make you sign away your rights to get a small little check.

Pros

Competitive salary – among the top of the Hays salary range when I joined. Two-week recharge period (fully paid time off), which was a great perk. Flexible home office options. Projects had potential and offered room for growth. Initially, the company had a strong and inspiring vision.

Cons

Over time, benefits were gradually stripped away: recharge time reduced from two weeks to one day, then removed entirely. Cost-of-living allowance during Hungary’s high inflation period was temporary and eventually discontinued. Growing employee frustration due to ongoing, unresolved issues with the company’s flagship product. Hiring and promotion decisions often seemed more based on internal relationships than merit or skill. Interview process was poorly handled, with some interviewers displaying unprofessional or dismissive behavior — including gatekeeping and asking irrelevant questions. The interview experience reflects broader concerns about company culture and management quality. The annual salary increase does not maintain the purchasing power parity. The company easily get onto any kind of hype train, if other companies slashing home office, then Diligent does, if other companies do some AI related job then Diligent does. Don't follow other companies!
