Pros

None whatsoever. Whatever you do, stay away from this company.

Cons

- Horrible managers intent on humiliation you and berating you in front of every coworker - Invasive management intent on knowing every single tiny thing you’re doing at all times - Absolutely no advertisement or support for any events or departments, yet they expect you to advertise for them - Extremely unrealistic SPH standards that continue to rise just so they won’t have to pay you more - Virtually nonexistent training. I had no experience applying makeup on other people, and they just expected me to know everything on my first day - Forced to harass customers by calling them multiple times a week and texting them almost every day - Forced to do extra work for other departments that were not stated in initial job description - Absolutely zero room for growth or improvement. - The turnover rate is abysmal. Most people do not last longer than a month - Return policy is a joke, thus interfering with employee SPH. They’ll take anything to make the customer happy - Legally ambiguous gifts and incentives to coerce customers into applying for credit cards that destroy their credit scores (does not specify that it is a hard credit check) - Employees expected to go to 9 am credit classes despite shifts not starting until 11 or 12 as punishment for not forcing people to sign up - Managers trash talk employees and pick favorites - DO NOT WORK HERE IF YOU ARE PART OF THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY THEY DO NOT RESPECT YOU - Horrifically conservative and micro aggressive toward minorities - Bullying and competition between associates encouraged

Pros

None. But I need a 5 word minimum.

Cons

Where do I start? The actual job was awful. No training whatsoever. You’re expected to just know everything. You work 50+ hour weeks and during the holidays you are 60+ hours with no bonuses. You’re basically working the stores for free. The people are rude and miserable. Basically women who probably peaked in high school and take out their anger on you. There is no HR. It honestly feels like your cubicle is a prison cell. Just get out or don’t even consider working here. It’s not worth it for your mental and physical health.

Pros

None... don't bother, Yes, REALLY

Cons

I was told by a manager the first day I started at Dillard's don't bother staying nobody does they broke my spirit on my first day and they will break yours! I thought what??? Management is used to an abusive culture full of toxicity trashing bashing and threatening you and your job. They do not believe in advertising yet they expect you to advertise for them as well for free. The employees are harassing and abusive towards each other I literally experienced two employees right near the front entrance yelling the whole store could hear them screaming and cussing at each other not only were they not fired they weren't even sent home they stayed around without any repercussion to make everybody miserable. During my less than 1 year at Dillard's I saw no less than 20 people walk in and within a month they literally walk out it's that bad.. HR the stores don't have one and they block the information for you to be able to get in touch with HR this company really, they really do not care about their employees
