      Inclusion, accepted as who you are, flexible and supportive to you as a person and your needs. Helping keep our users safe. Literally saving lives in the real world aspect of things.

      Pros

      Benefits, environment, coworkers, company culture, compensation. Discord genuinely cares about its employees and shows it. They will pay for your relocation. They will pay for you to set up your work from home space. They will pay you just to buy cute or fun stuff for your desk. If you are queer, a POC, or anyone who doesn't fit into the usual "tech bro" norm, you will fit in at Discord. If you are trans, they will help pay for your physical transition. Cannot emphasize enough how much they care about building a better internet (and a better world.) I have never felt as valued and respected as an employee as I do at Discord.

      Cons

      Relocation required. That's it. And even that, they fully pay for.

      Pros

      The company is both product driven, and engineering focused. Teams are encouraged to operate independantly but still working towards a shared direction. Progression is both fair and transparent and management cares about people being respected and taken care of. Fairly small company considering the size of user base. No unreasonably work life balance expectations, and rare/no crunch times given the nature of the buisness. Generally a very fun and enjoyable place to work because of the great people on the team.

      Cons

      Growing the company over the years has not always gone smoothly, although there has always been a strong internal effort to both course correct, and reflect if and when they were/are made.
