The best people around

Pros

DocuSign has corporate culture figured out. I know a lot of companies boast about this, but DocuSign hires the best people around, and people that will be your lifelong friends. Unfortunately no longer with the organization, but the relationships I've developed will last a lifetime. Cant say enough good things about DocuSign both from a culture and career advancement standpoint. - Market rate to slightly below market rate for comp I would say - benefits are incredible - best human beings on the planet - significant market opportunity with the product suite

Cons

- Your success in sales largely depends on the team or vertical you work within. - Sales enablement needs to be addressed across the board. Unless you are in a specific vertical selling to a handful of personas, there are so many use cases, companies, personas, and applications for the product - a blessing, but also a curse as it is really tough for SDR's/MDR's/AE's to grasp all of these. - The product is undoubtedly awesome and a market leader, but so many accounts are dry from the years of repeated outreach, and the product is expensive, so some companies (especially right now given market conditions) go with a cheaper alternative. - not much accountability across the board - lack of vision from executive leadership

Pros

- Excellent total compensation (Healthcare, Dental, Vision, PTO) - Respect and work life balance. I genuinely like everyone I work with and do not think about work after hours. My life feels very positive and happy. - Exciting product to sell and talk about with customers. - Exciting paths forward with new leadership. Several new executives have joined which are making big waves and I know we will get back to the stock price we once had. - All of the tools for success you could hope for (Salesforce, Quip, Xactly, Tableau, Qlik, etc...)

Cons

- Not all teams are held accountable. There are virtually no KPI's for extended account teams (MDR's, RM's, CSMs, Marketing) to hit which makes it hard to have leadership meetings with other business units when no one even knows where to begin on improving. All of their KPI's are more like pipe dreams or "best case scenarios" and there are zero repercussions if they miss, fail to track or fail to try. It's crazy to ask for more KPI's and data but I am unable to do my job with out it. It's completely unproductive to get on a call with a marketing team and have them tell you for an hour "we just want to help" or "we are thinking about doing something" or "we have no idea if our campaign created pipeline." It's even crazier to get on a call with the MDR leadership and they have no idea how many meetings were set, calls were made or opportunities were created. There needs to be standards put in place. - Sales teams also do not have KPI's and it's merely a "hit your quota" target. This makes managing teams more difficult but on the bright side no one seems stressed. - Some of the DocuSign Lifers have a lot of boys club vibes. There are "executives" here who have just been here for too long and aren't moving with this growing business. There is also this sense that the select few are untouchable and their entire business units are allowed to cheat the system to get paid more commission. Luckily, their numbers are dwindling and I think some are reading the writing on the wall. - All in all, the problems listed above are going to be changed. They have brought in the big guns with some of our new exec hires and I feel incredibly confident there will be a much tighter ship come next fiscal year even when it feels a bit chaotic right now. The best is yet to come.
