Pros

Hardworking co-workers in the trenches.

Cons

As a current employee, particularly within the Sales department, I feel compelled to articulate the predicaments we face, stemming chiefly from leadership missteps that have cascaded down, leaving employees to grapple with the fallout. Morale has plummeted as a result, and the management's retort to our grievances has been dishearteningly dismissive, essentially framing any dissent as counterproductive. Human Resources' attempt to counteract this image through a spate of seemingly artificial, glowing reviews only exacerbates the trust deficit. Prospective employees, especially those considering a stint in Sales, should be wary of the potential for a demanding, pressure-cooker environment necessitated by the current leadership's blunders. A reversal of this situation calls for an earnest introspection and remedial action from our leaders, but until such changes materialize, caution is prudent for those contemplating joining our ranks.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. Please note that HR does NOT attempt to post fake reviews-- this is unethical behavior that we would not partake in. The positive reviews are from employees who genuinely care about DCN and are working hard to make this an even better place! We appreciate our hard-working employees and value their positive outlook and feedback! We appreciate your service to DCN and we recognize that you are feeling frustrated. Please come talk to HR. It would be great to personally address your concerns.

Pros

Fully remote. Sadly that's it these days.

Cons

I've had the privilege of being associated with Dodge and Bluebook for a significant duration, and it deeply concerns me to witness the current trajectory of the company. The rapid turnover in upper management has introduced an unsettling instability, making it challenging to maintain any sense of continuity. This constant shuffle at the top is further compounded by the concerning quality of recent hires for these leadership roles. Many of these individuals appear to lack the essential experience and vision, leading to decisions and directions that are both questionable and, at times, contrary to our company's legacy and values. Another alarming trend is the escalating disagreements between teams. Where once there was collaboration and unity, we now see tension and conflicts that disrupt productivity and tarnish our work environment. This discord among teams seems symptomatic of larger issues, notably some perplexing business moves that don't necessarily align with the company's core values. While it's commendable to bring in fresh talent in an attempt to innovate and address challenges, the recent hires, rather than being solutions, seem to be part of the problem. Employee morale, a crucial component of any thriving organization, is at a concerning low. The cloud of uncertainty, accentuated by the specter of frequent layoffs, casts a shadow over even the most dedicated employees, leading to a palpable feeling of demoralization. It's disheartening to see the decline of Dodge and Bluebook, two entities that once stood as pillars of their respective industries. Their current state, marked by evident mismanagement and seemingly directionless decisions, risks overshadowing their storied pasts. In conclusion, while my hope remains for a positive turnaround, it's clear that the leadership needs to address these pressing concerns. The potential and promise of Dodge and Bluebook are too great to be squandered in this manner.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. As you are a current Vice President at DCN and a contributing member of our Operational Leadership Team, we encourage you to use your voice to be part of the solution rather than part of the problem. It is well documented that there have been challenges since the merger of the long-standing legacy companies of The Blue Book and Dodge Data and Analytics. It is not plausible to bring two 100-year old companies together, each with their own cultures and processes, and expect it to be a smooth transition. The Executive Leadership Team is working tirelessly to address and fix these challenges and ultimately turn the page to a new day for DCN, but the Operational Leadership Team needs to be onboard as well. We certainly appreciate your service to DCN and we understand that some employees may not feel comfortable with change and if that is the case in your situation, then please come talk to HR. It would be great to personally address your concerns.

The DCN Ship is Sinking...Fast

Pros

Coworkers who genuinely show concern and empathy, even though, given the treatment they've received and the conditions we all face, it seems they really shouldn't.

Cons

The challenges facing the company, particularly in upper and middle management, are significant. In the wake of the Dodge-BlueBook merger, there was a burst of optimism and a drive for renewal led by management and HR. Yet, over time, this enthusiasm has faded, with employee morale dipping to concerning levels. The leadership landscape has seen tumultuous changes: key figures have either abruptly left or been let go. The expectation for competent successors, unfortunately, hasn't materialized, leading to less qualified individuals occupying pivotal roles. This marked a turning point for the company, akin to the DCN ship beginning to falter. Additionally, there's been a stark shift in the attitude of those at the helm, from the CEO to HR. The once positive tone has darkened, casting a shadow over the company and its employees, further complicating the path ahead.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We value all of our employees and we appreciate all of their hard work and dedication. We admittedly recognize that there have been challenges since the merger of The Blue Book and Dodge Data and Analytics. The leadership teams are working endlessly to put the right people and processes in place to overcome these challenges. We appreciate your 4 years of service with DCN and welcome additional constructive conversation.
