Pros

- Opportunity for growth in all departments; a lot of moving parts at this time - Job offer made is more than the asking price; most people make a decent wage working at HQ - Casual work environment - Most people are helpful, polite and productive

Cons

-Informal interview process - Job description did not reflect what management desired for role (different descriptions provided from both the director and VP) overall disorganized; - Lack of diversity in leadership roles; - Internal promotions for management provided to people that cannot manage people and only know how to micromanage (i.e. EH&S in Asset Protection) and no efficient training process - Temps or contractors stay in roles, despite there efforts and productivity levels and other contributions, for several months to years without becoming permanent - JOB OFFER RESCINDED WITHOUT CLEAR EXPLANATION AS TO WHY over the phone with talent acquisition after closing the deal with the VP shortly after receiving; the way in which this matter was handled was in poor form and completely unethical, which further highlights the lack of consideration Dollar Tree Inc. has for its employees in regard to them being human and not another number on an Excel sheet, hence people are sending out emails and doing work at 8-9pm or 5am...some call it ambition or dedication or the life of retail, I call it lack of work life balance!

Pros

Great benefits I worked 18 years enjoyed my time . I had good days and not so good days but it was an experience I never thought I could handle

Cons

The allotted hours in a real world was not enough to keep the freigh up and store clean. So I stayed in trouble for that the store was decently kept. I tried to tell them this is 20th century. You cannot manage to keep the stores operating sufficiently because it’s the manager and associate against the crowd and people are disrespectful.

Pros

Easy to get promoted because nobody wants to work here.

Cons

Low pay for all. Assistant Manager's pay is embarassing. Store Managers don't make enough. Associates make minimum wage and don't get regular raises. Low PTO. I've had one week off as a Store Manager in a year. Minimum 48 hour work week for Store Managers, you'll usually work 60+. There are days I've worked 5 AM to 10 PM. I have worked 90 hour weeks. Skeleton crew. As a Store Manager, you'll cashier and stock for 90% of your day because you only have enough hours to have one cashier. Customers get angry all day because there are not enough cashiers and the shelves are empty. Nothing we can do because corporate doesn't give enough hours. Even if they gave enough hours, there aren't enough people willing to work for this company because of the terrible pay and working conditions. Run-down stores. My store has no A/C, registers that break daily, only one working store phone, dial-up internet speeds, disgusting old bathrooms that are falling apart, a disgusting "break area" that consists of one table and two chairs, which we use to store boxes on because they overfill our backroom with products. The backroom is OVERFILLED with stock due to a weekly truck, not enough stockers and no hours to stock, and no way to ever catch up on anything. It is extremely stressful and kills morale. The company doesn't care because a store has to be at $25 per square foot. If you work in a large store, you will never have a manageable backroom. The company piles on more paperwork, new rules, more work, more expectations weekly, with absolutely zero support. There are so many more cons but I can't possibly list them all. DON'T WORK HERE!!!
