Pros

Everything is a buck and most of the merchandise is pretty good. The store had a fantastic party section.

Cons

The hours stores are ALWAYS short staffed and the customers are always aggravated. Often there would be one person on the register and one person stocking / cleaning up the store. The store mangers would give you hours for the week. During the work week the regional management figured that the store had too many employees working that week and would cut hours. Mind you, the average employee was only scheduled about 15 hours So imagine getting your 8.00 an hour job cut from 15 hours to 12 or 10 hours. Most of the people working here had families to support with this foolishness. On top of this the assistant store managers were unprofessional, toxic, and ignorant. They OPENLY talked to subordinates about other subordinates, which of course created a hostile work environment.

Pros

There are some good values in the store for the customers.

Cons

Very few store managers last a year. I have only heard of one that has been promoted in spite of two complete turnovers of DMs in DFW. I have worked for four dms in two years. Two regional managers and two zone managers.

Pros

Flexible hours, growing company with plenty of job advancement

Cons

Hire you for 45 hours a week but don't give enough payroll hours to complete expected tasks, leaving management having to work over 50 hours. Having to work 6 days a weeks for 6 weeks over Christma's leaving no time for family.
