Pros
Not rocket science. Great place for students or those who need flexibility, or do not want to work long hours or need to. Not a lot of heavy lifting or physical labor. Making customers happy by offering them a place they shop at that they feel is saving them money,
Cons
There is minimal training for the employees. at any level. Skeleton crews. Expectations of productivity for the undesirable wages, employee turnover. Being expected to work off the clock, when there isn't any one to manage the cashiers requests, receive freight, stock product, answer phone calls, help customers with problems and exchanges while they are clocked out? you cannot leave the store unmanaged, but you have to clock out for a break.....If you are off the clock, you are not working...not managing...No inventory control, merchandise placement plans that don't fit the space in the store, too many items not enough homes, not enough product being allocated to the store to satisfy the demands of the customers...
