Pros

Met amazing people, learned to do about 8 differently titled jobs in 1 go, most managers are nice enough to work with you on hours

Cons

No raises for part-timers and they hired on at minimum wage, the company treats their employees like thieves(bag-checks, locker checks, individual receipts on anything you purchase, unable to bring in outside food/drink if its from another store if DT sells it while employees are ordered not to interact with shop-lifters except to "offer them a basket." Ridiculous that you can be written up for buying a snack/drink on the same receipt but aren't able to tell a shop-lifter to remover the case of candy pars from their coat).. They expect far more from a bare-bones team than is actually possible(processing 1500 pieces of freight with no stockers in 6 days while also running the store?), upper management lets store managers get away with murder just to keep bodies in their stores, no real advancement once you're a manger, Constantly working holidays and they recognize only a few for legitimate holiday pay, never submit a complaint about your manager because there is no sanctity in anonymity, pay-rate is awful for management, especially when you consider all you're expected to do and maintain. Drive items are annoying and irritate your customers more than they drive a sale. The turn-out of employees is horrifying, I've seen over 20 people come and go in less than a year- so many our store manager doesn't remember half of them. Truck-days are horribly scheduled (your truck day can be saturday but you will not get a shipment until monday/tuesday and the times are all but random and constantly changing.) and they are impossible to make any plans around. Full-time benefits are far too expensive to afford on they pay you're offered. Little to no contact from upper-management makes employees feel like they are unable to be heard when it comes to concerns and complaints about problematic management or store/company policy.

Pros

The hourly employees are wonderful and the customers are amazing!!!

Cons

The dollar tree will promise you a raise for new job duties...but never actually give them. The store manager works 20 hours a week gets paid for 50 and leaves all the work for assistant managers and cashier's and then takes the credit!!! Watch out for favorites! Don't call the "ANONYMOUS" Hotlinr bc they record your voice and play it for whomever your telling on!

Pros

Interacting with my regular customers.

Cons

Well I've worked for dollar tree for 16 month's at Springfield plaza. I never called out of work. I had a 20 min walk from my house to the job in a winter conditions I always did what I was told of me. Treating custermers like family even the snotty ones. Never had a complaint from any customer. I was very fast at the register. I was also told there would be room for advancement and I got deceived There is a lot of favoritism amongst employees and managers. If you kiss their behinds then you might get extra hours. They claim they didn't have money to give me more than 15 hours a week but they were constantly hiring new ppl. I went from working 20 hrs a wk to 12hrs to 8hrs. I found they were giving my hrs to the new hires and the brown nosers. They did me wrong. I was the go to person when my co-workers used to no called/No show. I never turned them down even though I used to walk to and from work. Today I was wrongfully terminated by Dollar Tree. They claimed I was giving out free products to customers. Seriously, we are talking about Dollar Tree. Everything is a dollar. Why would I need to give things out for free? I feel they terminated me because I refused to be a brown noser and kiss up to them.
