Pros

Good benefits, decent salary, training opportunities

Cons

Top-down leadership. Decisions made on finance without logistical analysis (cut staff first, figure out how to make it work afterwards). Lots of extra hours spent at work for emergent issues.

Thank you for your review and for your lengthy tenure with Dominion Energy! 20 years is a great achievement and we definitely value employees like yourself who have seen the company evolve. With regards to the cons you mentioned, I know there is some shifting happening across the company and that can cause some trepidation, but I am optimistic things will level out in a positive way. I also know our HR teams are evaluating staffing needs and are focusing on ways to make sure workloads are evenly distributed across teams. In the meantime though, I really appreciate your dedication to making sure our North Anna station continues to function smoothly and safely. Thank you again for your service and have a safe 2024!

Pros

Good Benefits and compensation compared to DOD/GOV industry I'd worked previously. Large company with established procedures and processes for most things. Seems to be adequately staffed across the board.

Cons

My leadership up through the VP level is new and it shows. The project management skills and ability to delegate or hold people accountable are completely lacking. Some teams and individuals are completely overwhelmed with work while others play games on their phones for lack of work. There is not a unity of mission across the company and many groups build out their own little empires and stay detached from the business case / customer realities. And this should be read with the context that I'm comparing to the federal government.

I especially appreciate you providing context around your previous employer. Changing industries and sectors can certainly be challenging, so this is helpful to know. Thanks again!
