Pros

The best company I probably will ever work for. Amazing pay and fun environment to work in! Coworkers are very nice and helpful. The hybrid schedule is also great.

Cons

There are actually no cons that I can think about

Pros

Benefits, pay is adequate but not comparable to industry, great co-workers

Cons

Upper (Corp) Management does not seem to care about the working folks at the power stations. Dept and positions are created our of thin air for those locations and jobs are being cut left and right at the stations with no reduction in work load. Salaried exempt folks are expected to be reachable 24/7 for no additional pay even when working weeks of extra hours.

Good afternoon and thank you for taking a few minutes to leave a review. I am sorry to hear that even after such a lengthy tenure (20+ years is a great achievement) that your expereince is currently not a positive one. Our compensation teams work diligently every month to ensure we pay our employees a salary commiserate with the market rates and offer a variety of benefits to help mitigate any differences. Unfortunate to hear that that has not been evident from your viewpoint, and that it feels as if retention is less than desirable. Thankfully, our analytics show that Dominion Energy retention rates have returned to what they were pre-pandemic and are very strong for our industry. However, that being said we can always do better and make sure employees feel valued. If you have any suggestions that you would like to see implement, please connect with your nuclear leadership and HR. In the meantime please know that our Talent Acquisition teams are hard at work to make sure each of our nuclear stations are fully staffed in an effort to alleviate some of the heavy work loads some of our teams are currently experiencing. We are hoping to see that positive change later this year. In the meantime, thank you again for your excellent work at our North Anna nuclear station and have a safe 2024!

Pros

Great benefits, decent pay, good amount of vacation and sick time, offers overtime and doubletime for non exempt employees, plenty of overtime available

Cons

morale is at an all time low, every plant equipment operator is expected to go to license school to become a licensed reactor operator, employees are undervalued by management, company expects employees to be available all the time even on their time off, due to inflation and increase in cost of living the pay is not competitive to other power plants. severely understaffed

Thank you for your review and for your tenure (9+ years) with Dominion Energy! Your work as an Operator at one of our largest nuclear facilities is a huge asset to the company. I also appreciate you highlighting the great benefits our employees receive across our stations and footprint. However, I completely understand that there is a large amount of pressure on our nuclear workforce to produce emission free energy for our customers. This can mean long hours and a lot of training. Our HR and Talent Acquisition teams are working hard to increase headcounts at a number of our nuclear stations and thereby hopefully reduce the work load per employee. Nuclear leadership is also keenly aware of the concerns you raised and are taking steps to mitigate them over the next few months. This year we anticipate some relief to station employees, so thank you for your diligence and for your hard work in the meantime. Stay safe!
