Pros

Management is very good. They are understanding, and listen and do something if you have a problem. Good pay and benefits. 4 days on, 4 days off

Cons

12 hour shifts. A LOT of on line courses to complete. Vacation time is used by 12 hour blocks not by the day. You end up with less vacation time than you should have

Large company, high mobility (internal and external), good salary and benefits. It's a good company to develop you professional career.

Cons

Too much "friendship" relations inside. Sometimes it is difficult to understand the changes. Depending on your job position there not so many opportunities.

Pros

Dow Chemical as a company is a great place to work. Great benefits, great people and a great enviornment.

Cons

The location. Lake Jackson, TX is not a place where you would move your family. The weather is terrible, it is in the path of hurricanes and the people are bigots. Most engineers (ones that are not originally from Lake Jackson) live in Pearland a commute 40 miles each way so that they don't have to live anywhere near Lake Jackson. The other locations that I have worked, Midland and Charleston, WV were a lot better than the Texas locations.
