      Overworked, understaffed, can't keep employees.

      Pros

      Pay is good and if you want overtime, this is the place. Certain "Units" in Dow have lighter work loads and can be paid just the same as other "units" that have extremely heavy workloads.

      Cons

      Many of the operators are required to work 40+% overtime. Employees don't stay because of the flawed "internship" program. Dow has removed many of the perks and benefits that used to make it the place to work. Dow doesn't try to compete with many of the chemical plants in southern Louisiana and this causes massive turnover at the process technician level. If you get placed in a unit with extreme workloads you are stuck there unless you leave Dow.

      Pros

      Many resources and experts available in the company and majority are willing to help and share their knowledge. The leaders who do set a vision will usually support the vision and projects with resources and people. A good focus on safety but this can go overboard too.

      Cons

      R&D is under great pressure to deliver. The leadership is terrible and many managers bully employee. The retention of female employees is dismal - especially those at the leadership level. I think many of them refuse to play the games and leave the company. Worklife balance is poor and 24/7 access is the expectation for most.

      Great people, good salary and benefits, love the culture.

      Cons

      Too bureaucratic, too many people promoted due to reasons not related to performance, forced ranking performance management, too much work and not enough people to do all the work
