In the Business of Building Trust

Pros

From the surface level, Doxel is a company that seeks to automate progress tracking for construction using cool tech. When you look deeper, Doxel is actually in the business of solving trust in the construction industry. For example, if a subcontractor says they finished with their work, how can we support the subcontractor in showing their work is complete? Trust is hard to build. It requires a depth of understanding that can only be obtained through continuous UX research. It requires product to do deep discovery to understand the customer’s needs. And it requires Engineering to build the right things fast with a high level of rigor. To top it all off, it requires an exceptional degree of trust to be able to execute in unison effectively. It may be cliche but in order to be a company that solves trust, it needs to operate on trust as well. It’s a tough mission as a startup to build a product in a legacy industry that instinctly sees technology as “big brother”. However the cost of not taking that mission on is even far more detrimental to the world especially when you’re talking about construction projects like delayed hospitals. I joined this company to be a part of this mission. At such a critical stage of the company, I know that the success of this company will be largely dependent on my actions.

Cons

Like every startup company, there’s all sorts of debt and deficiencies. Technical debt, managerial debt, etc. In addition, there's company culture that continues to need be refined, processes that need be implemented, and policies that need to be put in place in order to become a well-oiled machine. People looking to join Doxel are people who want to drive change and bias towards action.
