Pros

Love the kids and the commitment to growth and learning.

Cons

A lot of grumbling among certain faculty cohorts, but I don't know of many educational institutions where this is not the case.

Pros

If you don't interact with the administration much, Drew is a good place. Nice community feel, a lot of great students who make it fun to come to work, and there's an ongoing opportunity at Drew to re-think what you're doing and advocate for change. In my experience, the pay was competitive and the benefits were good. Plenty of time off.

Cons

The massive turnover speaks for itself. The new head of school has surrounded himself with incompetent sycophants who do his bidding for fear of being berated, demeaned, or otherwise demoralized by him. This has broken the school by driving out countless talented people who cared very deeply about their work and about Drew itself. The head of school says "high level" a lot, which gives you a sense of why he is incapable of leading a small, second-tier high school. He can't and won't appreciate Drew for what it should be, which is a warm, caring environment that takes care of kids who wouldn't survive in one of the top-tier SF schools. That's a great place to be and there is a real market for it! Instead, leadership is trying to contort Drew into something it's not. The result is a toxic workplace culture.
