Pros
I find that the majority of people who leave reviews, whether it be for a job, restaurant, hotel, plumber, etc., are negatively motivated. So I wanted to make a point to leave a review regarding the year and a half I spent working at Drive Social Media. The truth is, if you look for the bad anywhere you are going to find it. Now, I’m not saying Drive is perfect, no place is. You will run into your typical issues that you would at any workplace. But if you are someone who is passionate about what they do, takes pride in their work and is looking to grow and be challenged personally and professionally then your job search should end here. I’m walking away from Drive with a drastically different life then when I walked in. The way the company invests in their people is second to none. At Drive, if you care about what you do, work hard, seek out coaching and ASK for what you want you will be rewarded. They’ll get you where you want to be, not always on the timeline you want or through the means you want but they will get you there. The reason my time there had to end is because life events put me on a different path and afforded me a different opportunity. It was with a heavy heart that I resigned from my position; but my time there was some of the best of my life. I didn’t even realize, until the day I resigned, just how much these people genuinely care about those that come through their door. The support and genuine happiness I felt from them, for the move I have decided to make, was incredibly humbling. I am so grateful to this company for every way it has changed my life.
As Far as Drive's CEO, Josh Sample, he catches a little heat from disgruntled employees, who try to hurt the company by writing poor reviews. My opinion, and any who know him, is drastically different. Josh is a man who never hesitates to say what he’s thinking. His opinions and convictions are strong but he will be the first to say that he doesn't expect everyone to agree with him, he welcomes differing opinions. Josh has been self-aware and smart enough to surround himself with a leadership team that more than makes up for the areas where he may be lacking. While he is a little rough around the edges, you always know where you stand with Josh. And at the end of the day he genuinely cares about every single person and business that trusts him with their time, career or money. For his people, he has always said that his goal is that those who leave Drive are better off than when they came in. I have never seen him or any of Drive’s leaders deviate from that. If you care, he will always take care of you.
Cons
Nothing out of the norm for any other workplace.
Be smart and ask for what you think you are worth, don't take their first offer in salary negotiations ;)
