Pros

Good benefits Good place to be able to put experience on your resume, but build your parachute and hop out after a couple of years to a company that actually has competitive pay

Cons

Don't plan on getting anywhere unless you buddy up with the right people. Having an excellent work ethic, being great at what you do, being versatile, being a quick learner, being great with internal and external customers, having a great rapport with coworkers--none of it counts for much if the right managers don't take a personal interest in you (because you sucked up appropriately). They are very fickle too, so good luck. And that career pathing they're always talking about? I'm not sure it exists.

Pros

401k, health benefits, car, the salary sounds good on the surface, the bonus sounds good on the surface, possibility to career path

Cons

Work life balance doesn't exist not matter how often they say it, ability to write someone up is almost impossible- insubordination, disrespectful, late, etc don't even try. The bonus is there but is made unreachable so they don't have to pay you out. The salary is decent but hopefully you reside in a city that the cost of living is low or else you will pretty much need a free food bank to provide for your family. Being a badge number is all you are.

Thank you for your review and wish you were having a better experience. DriveTime is constantly looking at ways to improve work/life balance for employees. We currently have several initiatives in place such as Sundays off, 4 day work weeks and the option to work from home.

They Mean Well

Pros

Work-life balance as good as can be for a car sales job. They really try to be a progressive company. They seem to care about their employees.

Cons

Sometimes the cars they get aren't as good as they make it seem which undermines what they tell us to tell the customer. Always had to jump start cars. When a car is returned for mechanical issues, it's still a negative mark against the sales advisor. They take the sale away. Cars are often dirty.
