Pros

Drivetime is a great company that has a lot of good things going for it. The best thing would be that Drivetime allows young people out of college the opportunity to see the whole business which is hard to come by. Also, Drivetime is a fairly new company which promotes the fact that you can get exposure to unique business opportunities. Another thing is that the company has a culture that promotes innovation and thinking outside the box. Drivetime is also a rapidly growing company, not just in sub prime auto sales but in other avenues as well. Overall Drivetime is a good company that provides exposure that might take years to get somewhere else.

Cons

Drivetime, like every company does a lot a good things but lacks in others. Some of the things mentioned earlier, like Drivetime being a fairly new company, contribute to some of the flaws. Drivetime is still trying to figure things out which takes time and slows other aspects of the company. I am not here to rag on Drivetime because I think it is a good company with people who mean well but are just not there yet. The people I worked with understand why I left and the reasons I left. Just don't be the "Johnny Manziel" of the department!

Pros

Cassat ave location provided a great work environment, where I loved coming to work everyday. It was like a family.

Cons

very long hours, inconsistent schedule, and they do not like to pay what they owe you. I was advised to stay to past the end of the month in order to receive all of my bonuses, however only to find out on my last check I was shorted over $1000. The payroll department has messed up my paycheck several times in the past two years. They make too many promises they do not deliver on and send a lot of mixed messages where no one has the direct answers. Also they a non-rehire able clause even if you leave on good terms.

Pros

The money is pretty good especially for young adults fresh out of college. You will meet a lot of cool people while your there for sure because most of the employees are between the ages of 22-35. They will be like your family in a sense because you spend more time with them than your actual family. Also from time to time if your GM is cool lunch will be free (if you don't mind junk food). Expect to make about 55-65 yearly at the sales position.

Cons

Poor work life balance, especially in the tax season when the flood gates open and customers are in your face literally all day long. Expect on average 12-16 hour work days during that time of year (from Feb -May); money will be good though but you'll almost always be too tired to hang with family or friends. If your easily bored and don't like making pointless phone calls then this job isn't for you; or if you come from a sports back ground and you still enjoy staying in good shape, HA forget about it. Also you'll be forced to work with a few idiots in the management positions who've brown nosed there way to the top because eventually they will promote if you've been there long enough (and the worst part is they will change and think there superior to you for that reason). Also one of the biggest things you'll experience almost each and every month is the blame at the sales position of your store starts falling behind on budget. Job just gets old for folks who don't want to be in management positions

Ouch - a two star rating? We hate to see these, especially from someone who does have a positive outlook and would recommend the company to a friend. As I'm sure you've already heard, we are making great strides to improving the work and life balance of our retail employees. Stick in there while we roll our the changes and please continue to provide feedback to your management teams. Thanks for taking the time to leave this well thought-out review.
