On the surface Drivetime makes you believe that they care about you. Don't be fooled, it's a two faced culture full of corruption and quid-pro-quo.
If you're a "Yes" man, this is the place for you. If you have integrity and pride as a tradesman, then look elsewhere. They will have you screwing and gluing cars together to save management money for their bonuses. The companies entire structure pits each department against one another in a battle for efficiency, then punish them when they falter. They'll ask about your family, then turn around and make you work weekends even though they told you when hired that weekends are off.
The management culture is a totally different can of worms. They give you a vehicle to drive as part of your compensation, then threaten you like children to take your transportation away. Salaried employees are made to work overtime for meetings, conference calls, and weekends with no other thanks than "be happy you have a job". The use of cell phones to spy on employees and log information for later reprimands seems to be a sport. The yearly raise is absolutely laughable. It's on a rating scale of 1-5, and all managers are directed to never give a 5, and if given a 4, there must be an essay as to why. Even rockstar employees are only given a 2-3% yearly raise, coming out to less than 80 cents in most cases. Absolutely pathetic given the massive profits the company brags about quarterly.
