Pros

I get to work with some of the most intellegent and hardworking people I've ever met. The work is challenging and interesting. Every perk you expect to see at a stereotypical Bay Area startup is available (gym, masseuse, 3 5-star meals a day, social calendar)

Cons

There are some growing pains. This usually looks like transient bottlenecks - but occasionally involves having management structure form organically rather than deliberately, which doesn't always feel optimal.

Pros

- This is an environment full of brilliant people; there is never a shortage of work-related insight or non-work-related interesting conversation. - The culture is one of dedication to excellence--people truly care about creating a great product and providing a delightful experience for users. - Building a real income-generating product, rather than being an ad-supported platform, is incredibly freeing. It feels great to be working on a product that we can provide to everyone for free, and that provides an experience good enough that some users are willing to pay for more space. - "Work hard, play hard" is cliche, but an accurate description of Dropbox. - The food is awesome.

Cons

With an environment focused on quickly creating a great product, there comes pressure. It's mostly not external--there's just a drive to be awesome that rubs off on you, and sometimes results in long hours.

Pros

Biggest pro: the people here are all top-notch and highly motivated, which helps motivate me to do great work too. Many engineers are graduates from top-tier CS schools, or are ex-Google / ex-Facebook. The people here are all easygoing and a lot of fun to hang out with. Culture here is second to none. A lot of autonomy and responsibility is given to the engineers for day to day work. A couple times a year we have a hack week where every engineer at the company is free to work on whatever they want.

Cons

The company is still really small and lacks some of the infrastructure you'd expect at a larger place. There aren't yet any set tracks for career advancement, or mentorship for personal development, which some people may not like.
