Pros

Free blowouts Half off products if you like their crap Great coworkers

Cons

Young, childish management in the Brooklyn location. Management curse at the stylists and throws temper tantrums. He's rarely actually present at the shop but is very ill-natured. He only looks out for himself though he gives off the impression that he's willing to work with you if you work with him. Many of the stylists have done for him but he gave them his behind to kiss. He's always asking the stylists to do things for free for the company like steaming the floor with their own supplies and steam cleaner to fixing one of the broken cameras in the salon because the company is broke. When those same people need something he doesn't want to work with them. Ignorant upper management. She's very nasty and doesn't do much but delegate tasks from her cushy home while everyone was at the shop catching covid. They never actually shut down the shop when there was an outbreak nor did they notify any of the stylists. Everyone internally discussed being sick. Non-existent HR/Payroll which ended up being the same person due to downsizing/covid. Looks like they were sold yet again and major changes are happening in the company in an extremely toxic manner.

Pros

Good way to start off your career as a beautician considering nothing permanent is being done (color/cuts). You will always get a client for the day as long as theres clients is also good if u dont have clients yet. The products and tools are good and they give you 50% off. Working at drybar is a good way to perfect your styling skills and is a fun fast paced work environment. Theres always opportunities to move up in the company as well. No real dress code besides wearing drybar colors so no stressing about what youre wearing to work everyday.

Cons

No real benefits, no full time positions unless you move up to management, minimum wage + tips & commission from product sales, if busy no real time for breaks, clients can be difficult sometimes, unreasonable time limits for clients (30-45 mins to complete a client) and lack of tools/products for clients with curly/coily hair
