      First 10 years were great, last 5 not so good and if my children are to have a long term career then changes are needed

      Pros

      Stable, incompetence is not noticed for a long time. Pay is OK but not great and work life balance is great - hard work and long hours are not usual.

      Cons

      Poor level of managerial competence. High focus on 'watching' that the correct thing is being done by the big brother. Need to serve long time to get promotioned or else be popular with managers. Managers spend a lot of time playing politics and making the internal systems work and not enough on the business.

      Pros

      Great company to work for! It is nice to have the security that it offers as an engineer starting off a career.

      Cons

      The older workforce is retiring, but the positions are not being back-filled, so more work is being piled on an already overwhelmed group of employees.

      Pros

      DuPont emphasizes and invests in the safety of their employees in and out of the work place. When you work for DuPont, you are treated like family by your fellow employees, regardless of position within the organization.

      Cons

      Very few negative aspects. I guess if you don't like working in an organization that expects their employees to give 100%, then this is not the company for you.
