Pros

Stability, flexibility (time & even sometimes you can telecommute, depending on your work). Teamwork encouraged.

Cons

Every year they keep nibbling away at our benefits. When there is attrition they frequently do not fill the job and just pass out more work, and then they forget that we're now doing the work of our former colleagues--and it is just assumed that everything we are doing is background so now we can do even more!

Pros

Excellent work/life balance. Technical staff is highly skilled and open to sharing/mentoring/training of new employees. Lots of resources to pull from across the company (must be patient and willing to deal with red tape). Some opportunity to travel. Nearly impossible to get fired unless you commit some grossly innappropriate action or non professional behavior. Across the whole company DuPont has one of the strongest technical staffs aged 50+ relative to any other company. This however will change over the next 5-10 years due to poor staffing practices. If the company were better off financially, I honestly believe DuPony would attempt to be more competitive with attracting and retaining top talent.

Cons

Upper management still thinks that DuPont and Dow rule the world. Compensation and benefits are very poor relative to other peer companies. No pension for new employees, poor 401K options. As expectations are low, there tends to be a lot of folks riding out their career. When the "baby boomer" generation begins to retire en masse, DuPont will find itself with a horribly inexperienced technical staff. Company has been unable to hire employees away from other top companies resulting in very few fresh concepts and ideas being introduced.

Cons

The company is facing many challenges in the future due to out of data products and challenging from company from China.
