Pros

If you're fortunate enough to work with someone intelligent AND who appreciates you, you can learn a lot and enjoy your work at the same time!! When I was there the benefits were great and I got raises every year; I was there 17 years!

Cons

I honestly cannot think of any.

Good place to work, may take a while to climb the ladder

Pros

Great reputation within the industry, great place to start a career. Good organizational leaders, fantastic and overly competitive benefit package.

Cons

Not as many opportunities as you may think - have great talent at the very top, but lots of mediocre employees below. Advancement seems to be based more on number of years than ability. Many "Duke lifers" here, which makes it difficult to progress in the organization.

Pros

Fair to strong job security, ability to move around (or up) to other departments within job title. Seemingly fair market value salary.

Cons

Training... within position, and for available positions is not strong. Severe lack of diversity, especially in the Sr. Analyst and management ranks. You must do your homework on the market, or you will not be compensated properly. Almost impossible to increase your salary, and even a vertical move (e.g. from Analyst to Sr. Analyst) will generally come with an offer of the lowest possible pay increase, despite established guidelines that allow up to a 10% increase for such a move.
