Pros

Great organization, great people. Almost everyone is helpful and tries to integrate with their surroundings colleagues. Everyone cares and it shows.

Cons

Some things move slowly because of bureaucracy. Not everything is clearly mapped out for researchers and not everyone wants to help others.

Work/life balance isn't where it should be in the department I work in. Being paid salary in my specific job is a con.

Pros

Benefits are great. Atmosphere stimulating and mentally challenging. Surrounded by others who are the best. Duke is a prestigious organization and top-notch medical center

Cons

Size and accompanying bureaucracy typical of a large institution. Good makes up for the bad, though. Wages need to catch up to the marketplace.
