Pros

There is never a dull moment and its always exciting

Cons

Depends on where you work. The department I worked in had a miserable surgeon who was literally never happy with anyone's performance, constantly belittled me and made me feel like an idiot, and rarely showed appreciation for literally all of the work I did.

Pros

Employees are friendly and become like family, depending on how closely your department works together.

Cons

The hospital is going through a number of changes right now: new management; longer hours; more call; removed all incentive pay; the best employees leave and management says to let them go. Recently, everyone was told there would be no raises, then the RNs received a raise much larger than the usual and immediately. It's hard to promote teamwork after that.
