Pros

Pay is acceptable, everything else is not

Cons

Extremely abusive management runs rampant from corporate downwards. The entire structure is poorly formed, nobody is adequately trained and they expect you to figure out how to do anything. Need help or guidance? Expect to be belittled, insulted degraded. Have an issue that needs resolved from an HR standpoint? No help there either, they're either willingly ignorant or willfully complicit; I've seen violent mental episodes go unresolved, targeted harassment and threats of violence go ignored, sexual assault and harassment get dismissed without investigation, glaring logistical problems go ignored my LP, the list goes on. Turnover is horrendous, and every city a store is located has a horrible reputation for numerous abuses at all levels of leadership.

Trainwreck

Pros

Flexible - Friendly team members

Cons

There are no processes or standards at Dunhams. As a manager, you don't really have your own "team" as the manager over apparel, I was responsible for processing the apparel coming in on the truck , putting it out, keeping the sales floor merchandised , Recovery, ect. Each season they have you box up in cardboard boxes the winter apparel & store in warehouse & get out all of the old summer apparel. It is a never ending train wreck. All of the technology is so old. There was no way to validate inventory or anything. There was always so much to do with little to no people there. Sometimes I would be the only person on the sales floor with 1 team member as a cashier & 1 team member at the firearm counter. High theft bc you have nobody to customer service on the floor. No attendance policy, management has to ask DM to be able to write anyone up for anything. It was just ridiculous.

Pros

Create own schedule, knowledge of firearms

Cons

Unsafe practices, no support from Leadership, unrealistic expectations for such a large workload, high turnover, low starting pay which makes it hard to get or keep good people.
