Pros

If you're lazy, it's decent pay being a downstream coiler. Do almost nothing all day but watch a reel. Once an hour or so, you gotta spend 5 minutes actually working. Outside that, you sit/stand around and slap the pipe from one side to the other of the coil. Easy work.

Cons

Management is terrible. Supervisors have no clue of how to the work the people they supervise do. Positions that require more work or responsibility barely pay more than the position that requires almost no actual work. The most physically demanding positions at the plant only pays a dollar more an hour than you'd make sitting on a stool all day. And did I mention it's hot in the summer? Temps reach over 105° inside the plant. If you're lucky enough to have a fan or mister, GREAT! If that fan/mister breaks though... it won't be repaired or replaced, you'll have to do without. You also have to be mindful of the pidgeon infestation there. They occasionally fly into the fans that blow hot air off the ceiling down on you and they become projectiles. The birds that DON'T get killed, they roost in the perlings inside and frequently deficate over work areas. Unless you're okay with feces in your hair, wear a hat.

Great Place to Grow and Thrive

Pros

I've had a great experience working here (5+ years). The team & management are supportive, leadership is approachable and open to new ideas, and there's a genuine emphasis on work-life balance (vacation, sick leave, holidays, remote work, etc). Opportunities for growth are encouraged, and the company culture is both inclusive and forward-thinking. It's a place where your ideas are heard and valued.

Cons

Things can move quickly, which may feel overwhelming at times, especially during busy periods. It helps to be adaptable and comfortable with change.
