Pros

Some people are nice to work with

Cons

Idk where to begin. I know more about dutchie on the outside than I did on the inside. What does that tell you? No one knows what’s going on because there’s lack of transparency. Roadmap/all handscalls are a bunch of words. Leadership bullied me relentlessly. Micromanagement and bullying pushes top talent out the door. Performed a skills evaluation pretending to want to develop employees while truly using it to gauge who they could get to do more work for less. Many rounds of small lay offs to avoid bad press. Tells employees to leave positive reviews on Glassdoor as a higher priority than take care of their customers. Many of the positive reviews were by someone who was forced to leave it so read with caution. Pushed to deliver the impossible until you absolutely break. Tim doesn’t even know his employees. You’re just a number. He doesn’t even care about cannabis, just $$ bc Dutchie is in a bad spot. that’s all they can focus on. Not one bottom line employee is happy. Everyone is overworked, gaslit and misguided. Toxoc managers will say differently so why does it matter. Leaders will give you 5 star performance review and raise, then turn around and hold a date past due in internal records against 4 weeks later and get rid of you if you question them at all. Dutchie isn’t what it used to be. There are so many other options and providers who truly care about their customers and customer success. Dutchie couldn’t care less about their employees. They care the most about their reviews on Glassdoor tho.

One of our key values is "be direct, with empathy." We believe that direct communication breeds trust and faster, better decision making. We hold quarterly All Hands, monthly Q&A sessions, and regular roadmap presentations to keep all employees informed and aligned. We also run regular Glassdoor campaigns and internal surveys seeking direct, anonymous, honest, and voluntary feedback from our employees. Another key value at Dutchie is "it's all about the customer." We prioritize our customers in our decision-making and have a deep understanding of the challenges they face, and we're here to help with solutions.

Pros

The product is still leading the market with feature and function (when it works). Good benefits, great co-worker relationships. The best thing about Dutchie was always the people.

Cons

Leadership is awful. If you aren’t a white male Toast Bro, you aren’t safe or valued. When Dutchie removed the founders the heart and soul of the company left with it. Dutchie preaches about culture and inclusivity then terminates long tenured people that added the most depth to their teams. The CEO is a giant poser, he says what he thinks he is supposed to say as a leader of a “canna tech” company but doesn’t live it. It’s obvious that he favors his former Toast colleagues. Dutchie used to be a safe haven for diversity of all kinds. Not so much anymore. Internal communications are highly offensive at times, discussing political issues that have NOTHING to do with the work being done there and just assuming everyone agrees with the extreme left wing mind set of the CEO. Isn’t it work place 101 to leave things like politics and religion at home? Dutchie used to be amazing and now it’s a big bummer. I feel bad for the people who still work there.

Thank you for submitting your review. We agree that our people are our best asset, and believe that we have the right team in place to execute on our mission of providing safe and easy access to cannabis. We're glad to hear you enjoyed your team during your tenure at Dutchie. Diversity & Inclusion efforts are incredibly important, and have invested in company wide training on a quarterly basis that covers topics like unconscious bias and allyship. We are steadfastly committed to creating an equitable and inclusive workspace, while encouraging employees to bring their authentic selves to work every day.

Pros

A fun idea for a business

Cons

Despite efforts of trying to save the fun startup environment, the reality is that since Dutchie acquired two point-of-sale companies in 2021 it's been downhill, and fast. They're burning through overworked, under-compensated employees, and can't figure out whether or not they should run the company like a tech startup or a cannabis dispensary.
