Pros

Lots of energy, lots of growth, great people, definitely would recommend Dutchie.

Cons

A lot of growth so things change fast, for me I actually enjoy this but it is definitely very fast paced. Lots of new hires right now so things change pretty often.

They sell you a load of BS.

Pros

- Fun culture and people, cause it's cannabis - The product team know what they're doing

Cons

- Below-average benefits - No 401k matching - Culture of secrecy - Leadership feeds everyone some BS - Feels kind of like a cult - HR are definitely the lackeys of leadership. Never seen an HR department be so blatant about making sure you put Dutchie above all else. - Don't think their longterm potential is going to work out so well. - Leadership doesn't really trust the smart people they've hired to guide the company in the right direction so some missteps have happened. I got out after a few months because it was apparent to me this company sold me on some pie-in-the-sky dreams during hiring, but reality was much more bleak.

A scrappy startup keep scrapping

Pros

Leading in the cannabis space means that there is a lot to shoot for. The drive to overall success is a wonderful boost to productivity. The company is involved in both the legal aspects of improving cannabis and in the social aspects like the matching contribution to Last Prisoner Project .

Cons

If you don't want to work hard in a startup Dutchie can be a rough place. There is no matching 401k 'cuz startups are poor in cash and rich in equity. If you need near term predictable financial growth over the long term value of equity then this isn't the place for you. There is lots of opportunity here but you are going to have to push for it. We all have to find our own work-life balances but if that means 4 day work weeks, slower work schedules, or lack of ambiguity in a wildly changing industry then you are not going to be happy at Dutchie.

Thanks for sharing this review! As an organization, we are dedicated to our mission of providing safe and easy access to cannabis. We are excited about our efforts in DC as we lobby to pass safe banking and lower the schedule of cannabis. Through our partnership with Last Prisoner Project, we are also dedicated to helping end the injustice of 40,000+ people in prison for cannabis. We couldn’t agree more about the opportunities at Dutchie for employees who are ready to dig in and work hard to achieve our mission. We reward our team for reaching performance goals with total rewards, including cash compensation, equity, benefits, skills development, and career progression opportunities.
